Job Description

  • Assist residents with daily living tasks such as hygiene, grooming, and appropriate clothing selection, while maintaining a clean and organized living environment
  • Support and participate in recreational and community activities, including sports, swimming, dining out, and other social events
  • Help residents work toward individualized goals by providing guidance, encouragement, and hands-on support in areas such as self-care, mobility, and independent living skills
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, acting as a mentor and role model to promote personal growth, independence, and quality of life

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous caregiving experience is a plus but not required
  • Must be able to commute to Misericordia’s campus at 6300 N Ridge Ave, Chicago, IL 60660 (0.5 mi from Peterson/Ridge Metra station)
  • Weekend availability is required
  • Pasion for caregiving and working with children and adults with developmental disabilities is important
  • Relevant soft skills include responsibility, compassion, empathy, and creativity

Education

  • High School Diploma/GED
