Job Details
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on architectural elements including carpentry, patching, painting, and lock repairs
- Ensure building systems and operations comply with OSHA, EPA, and fire safety regulations
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repair tasks
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical school or military training preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance, engineering, or a related field, preferably in industrial, office, or retail spaces
- Relevant certifications highly desirable (e.g., City of Chicago Stationary Engineer, Boiler Operator, EPA Refrigerant)
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems
