Patient Care Technician

Job Description

  • Provide direct patient care by assisting with admissions, discharges, hygiene, feeding, mobility, vital signs, specimen collection, and newborn care, including hearing screenings and glucose checks
  • Support clinical procedures such as EKGs, fetal monitoring, phlebotomy, oxygen setup, and post-operative care, while adhering to safety and infection control protocols
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient observations, intake/output, and care activities, promptly reporting any changes in condition to the RN
  • Contribute to a safe, clean, and efficient care environment by cleaning equipment, stocking supplies, maintaining patient rooms, and handling patient belongings
  • Participate in team-based care through staff meetings, training, quality improvement initiatives, and supporting a “Patients First” approach in all interactions

Skills & Qualifications

  • CNA Certification or current enrollment in school of nursing with completed CNA Certification or current enrollment in school of nursing with completed basic clinical rotations is required
  • CPR/Basic Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association are required
  • Must score a 90% or higher on annual mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes
  • Relevant soft skills include flexibility, organization, multi-tasking, critical thinking, and level-headedness in stressful situations
