Job Description

  • Prepare inventory, order medications and supplies, receive shipments, and stock pharmacy shelves across various locations
  • Facilitate timely medication distribution by prioritizing orders and coordinating with pharmacists, especially for STAT requests
  • Complete annual technician competencies and maintain compliance with departmental, hospital, and regulatory policies
  • Prepare outpatient prescriptions and perform cashiering duties as needed
  • Assist in training new pharmacists and technicians within assigned work areas

Skills & Qualifications

  • Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician License is required
  • 1 year of pharmacy experience or completion of/current enrollment in an accredited pharmacy tech program (domestic or international) is required
  • Strong knowledge of medications, pharmacy procedures, and record-keeping practices is essential
  • Proficient with computers; sensitivity to patient care standards in pharmacy practice
  • Relevant soft skills include attention to detail, communication, and ability to work collaboratively
